In case of fire or power failure, there’s either a main switch inside the electrical box or a release key somewhere close by. Inside the power box that all gates have somewhere, an easy to spot main switch can be used to cut power to the gate and alarms.

Others have a release key that anyone can use in case of fire. Sometimes it’s just in a box embedded into the concrete right by the gate.
